Kevin was born and raised in the Chicago land area. He grew up playing lots of sports but Hockey became his favorite. However, he quit hockey during high school when he got more involved in the streets. Eventually he made it back to hockey and played at the college and Minor League Professional levels. Kevin’s life was spared after a violent altercation and that was the beginning of a series of events that lead to his conversion. He attended college in Oklahoma where he had pastoral leaders invest in him. That investment has reaped an eternal return. Kevin has invested in athletes, served as a minister at the University of Memphis and LeMoyne-Owen College (HBCU) in South Memphis, and shared Christ in word and deed with his neighbors. Kevin has also served as a Pastoral Resident/Outreach Coordinator between his home church and its ministry partners in Memphis. Prior to moving to Detroit Pastor K and his family lived in the City of Memphis in a community comparable in many ways to our 48214 community. His love for understanding God’s Word and communicating it with clarity led him to complete a Master in Divinity last year.
Pastor Kevin, his wife Monica, daughter Evie Rose, and dog Big Mack now reside in the 48214. Pastor K enjoys intense workouts, reading, music, good coffee, good food, training his dog, spending quality time with his family, and going on family vacations.
