Born and raised in Southeastern Virginia, Ginny grew up in a Christian home where she learned the truth and beauty of the gospel. As a young child, however, she often misunderstood what it meant to be a Christian and tried to live out her faith by following rules and being a "good person." As she matured and grew in her understanding of the gospel, she began to understand more deeply the heart behind what it meant to have a relationship with the Lord. Ginny began to walk in rhythms of grace and grew in her desire to share this grace with others.
After high school, Ginny attended Gordon College, in Massachusetts, where she studied Sociology and Spanish. While college was a fruitful time for her, it was also filled with various struggles in her faith, from doubt to frustration with the church to struggling to find her identity in Christ. She often found herself placing her identity in her academic performance or friendships. Through God’s gracious hand, he continued to reveal to her the beauty of His Son and turned her heart back to Him time and again.
Ginny first became connected with MACC on a mission trip during her freshman year of college and was immediately encouraged by their holistic mission in their community. She returned to MACC as a summer intern after her sophomore year and was able to experience life in Detroit and grow in her desire to share the gospel with others.
After graduating from Gordon in May 2014, Ginny moved to Detroit to become a part of the MACC Staff Team. It was here in Detroit that she met her now husband, Jonny. They married in June 2016. She loves working for such an encouraging, joyful, and hardworking team. In her free time, Ginny enjoys playing soccer and reading.
