Erics's Bio | Sara's Bio
Eric grew up in inner city Cleveland where his parents were drug dealers and involved in organized crime. As a teenager Eric began to sell crack-cocaine himself.
While excelling in school as an honor student, he also earned recognition on the street by fighting, and making money through drug dealing. After almost killing a man the night of his senior prom, Eric realized his life had to change or he would end up in jail or dead.
During his freshman year at Miami University of Ohio the Lord put many people into his life that started to tell him about Jesus. It wasn’t until he went to a Conference sponsored by Campus Crusade for Christ over Christmas break though that he submitted his life to Christ. That summer during an internship with Procter and Gamble Eric witnessed his father come to Christ. It was at this significant juncture that he began to see God’s desire to use him.
At Miami, Eric began to be discipled by the director of Campus Crusade for Christ, Roger Hershey. It was during these years that Eric began to love telling people about Christ and discipling men.
At the end of his college career Eric had to make one of the hardest decisions of his life. He stepped out in faith and passed on a lucrative business career at Procter and Gamble to go into full-time Christian work with Campus Crusade for Christ. Eric was placed at Michigan State University and had a powerful impact on a number of young men there. After two years at MSU, an opportunity opened up for Eric to be trained for a year in leadership development by the top leaders in Crusade at the World Headquarters in Orlando.
From there Eric went on for further training at Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary where he completed his Masters of Divinity. While in seminary the Lord united Eric with his wife Sara and gave them an excitement for serving God together. After Seminary Eric and Sara spent a year with a ministry called FOCUS in Uganda. The Lord used this time to confirm their passion for holistic ministry within the communities of the USA.
